Our plant based butcher shop is located on 2278 Gottingen in Halifax, NS! Everything is made by hand in house and our menu will rotate bi-weekly.

We cook and serve everything from SCRATCH out of our 1000 square foot space!

Who we are

We are a couple of culinary based professionals and plant-based enthusiasts cooking out of the North End of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. We are creating fun, delicious plant-based meats, cheeses and take out.

Lauren Marshall is the owner of Real Fake Meats and classically trained chef with over 20 years of industry experience. She studied and is a graduate from the Culinary Institute of Canada & Is a Top Chef Canada alumni (Season 4). Lauren also holds a nutrition designation from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition where her love of eating plant-based was born! While Chef Lauren focuses on the operations side of the biz she is accompanied by her NEW and incredible Executive Chef Erin OHern Brown.

Chef Erin previously lead the team at enVie, another lovely local vegan hot spot. With years of experience in plant-based cooking and passion for creating delicious and innovative dishes, our new chef is sure to bring exciting new flavours to our menu. From house fermented spicy kimchi chickn’ n cheeze burger to comforting corn chowder, our chefs culinary expertise will elevate our offerings and delight our customers!
